Martina Lindqvist is an artist based in London, UK, where she received her MA at the Royal College of Arts. Her work has been published and exhibited internationally, and she is the recipient of several awards. She was born in Sweden in 1981 to Finnish parents, and moved to the UK in 2001. Her work investigates memory, perception, and the concept of home mostly through the use of metaphor. Lindqvist is interested in phenomenology and the discrepancy between ‘objective reality’ and subjective perception and experience, and her work is an attempt to take on the rather paradoxical task of making visible something that is not quite there. Murmurs is a reflection upon failure, and depict cut flowers placed in cardboard vases, photographed in the process of wilting.
