Daedalus (against walls)
“Perhaps the immobility of the things that surround us is forced upon them by our conviction that they are themselves, and not anything else, and by the immobility of our conceptions of them.” Marcel Proust, In Search of Lost Time Vol. 1, Swann’s Way
Daedalus was imprisoned by King Minos in the Labyrinth that he himself had built by order of the King. Subsequently, the legendary architect managed to find an exit from the Labyrinth and flew away.
Daedalus (against walls) is a work in progress that yearns for an exit; in a constant dialogue with the deceptive nature of the image, it attempts to evoke conceptual and visual networks that invite a confrontation with persistent convictions and definitions.
