Michael Thomas is an Australian photographer currently based in Melbourne, his work focuses on documenting the beauty in objects and places that are often discarded or overlooked. Part of this process is to capture moments, structures and landscapes that may be remodeled or cease to exist in the future. Today we take a look at Michael’s series titled Oversights.
Oversights
‘Oversights’ is imbued with nostalgia and a sense of serenity and stability in sub/urban settings. However, there is a Lynchian aspect to this series and an eeriness that suggests everything is not as it seems. Colour and lighting play an important role in constructing these haunting images that blur the boundaries between the past and the present.
