Kristie Muller

Kristie Muller is an artist and photographer based in Ontario, Canada. Growing up, Kristie studied ballet and contemporary dance. Her interest in painting and obsessive compulsive nature lead her to photography. Taking pictures doesn’t make a mess, and was an outlet for her fascination with color and shape. Her work now consists of sculpture, video, and photography. Her photo work explores fragments of her natural surroundings, often blurring the line between reality and manipulation. Kristie has exhibited at NADA New York, Interstate Projects, AC Repair Co. and P.P.O.W.

This selection of photographs were all taken during my last few years at home in Canada.  This work is a mixture of documentation and invention, with overlapping themes in line and tone. Stollen expressions of nature, people and objects. I like to exclude any clues or extra noise from the frame, leaving everything open ended as to where and when the image was taken. These pictures build off of each other, each acting as an isolation and interruption of everyday life.
