Nawlins
Nawlins is a photo survey of New Orleans, Louisiana, a city infamous for heavy drinking, public nudity, and live music. Tourists rarely experience New Orleans beyond these superficial dimensions, but outside the absurd eccentricity of Bourbon Street, lies the welcoming and generous nature more true to the New Orleans lifestyle. Where everyone says “Hello” and helping a mother carry groceries rewards you with food, liquor, and weed at a local block party. Kids flood the streets, impromptu parades are at a moments notice, and a community cares for a homeless man. This series seeks to capture the plurality between the seen and unseen of New Orleans.
