Vicky Moon is a Los Angeles based photographer. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Photography and Imaging at Art Center College of Design. Her work ranges between commercial and fine art photography and her photographic interest is primarily architecture, both exteriors and interiors. She is also interested in the construction of creating depth with her two dimensional imagery and has created portable mini light boxes as well as a hand made architectural pop up book. Today we take a look at her series titled, Expired L.A. Expired L.A. 2012-2013 Expired L.A. is an on going series of my exploration of Los Angeles at night. I look for run down buildings that hold a forgotten beauty and photograph them with expired 4×5 duplicating film. Every building is unique and captivating, as well as the individual color shifts each building creates with every exposure. I am fascinated by the drama that is created by the night sky and seek the beautiful in the over looked; I find the mundane to be extravagant and I find the beauty in the expired; This is my Los Angeles.
