Cru Camara (b.1994) is a photographer born and raised in Manila, Philippines. Her early childhood was divided between the city and her parents’ farm in the province where she spent her time wandering through the natural landscape. She started taking photographs in high school, following the end of her decade-long studies in classical music. Her work has been featured in numerous online publications such as PITCH, Thisispaper, and Trendland, to name a few. She also released a zine in 2014 alongside other upcoming artists under Future Zines. She is currently working on personal print-based projects, as well as expanding her body of work.
With a palette of neons and pastels, her images construct a colorful and fragmented world that act as small glimpses into another place–a sublime landscape of color and form. Her images consist of a vast selection of subject matter, exploring both the natural and man-made. Her influences stem from a deep appreciation for music, as well as the small, unseen gestures and details of the every day.
