Meghan Ireland is a native of New Hampshire currently living in Massachusetts. A 2012 graduate of the New England School of Photography, Meghan is now working as an editorial, documentary and fine art photographer specializing in small format, location work. Her images are a collection of instinctual moments in her life, personal moments that deal with themes related to nostalgia, identity, and an often romanticized look at history and culture.
Home is where one starts from.
– T.S. Eliot
Hometown is a project that features an obscure cast of characters and the often-dubbed-ordinary places that are distinctly rural New Hampshire. A seemingly average place to live that can best be described as inspirational, compelling, habitually humorous, charming and at times melancholic.
From the start, this body of work began as a familiar look back at a place where I’ve spent most of my life. There is value in understanding and knowing where you’ve been; I have found that it better guides you to wherever you may be going.
