Born in the American South, Dustin Lane started a career in the film industry soon after high school. Photography and Cinematography felt like a natural progression after a background in other visual art mediums growing up. Serving as cinematographer for clients such as Samsung, Nike and music videos for artists Alt-J, Vince Staples, among others, Photography is a way to work in a more personal manner. That feeling of solitude is apparent across much of the images. Always looking to hint at narrative, nostalgia, only ever suggesting a feeling.
Firstborn Son
The project Firstborn Son is a collection of images taken from across the south venturing into the midwest. People are scarce, but their impressions are heavy upon the landscape. Bits of narrative are fleeting. The photographs are time and life passing by.
